Head of Association

Anke Biedenkapp, 1st chairwoman and managing director

Maschsee instead of Malta! After exciting years as a study tour guide, the historian chose Hannover as the place for her traineeship. After completing it, she decided to leave the school to others and put the diverse sights of the state capital in the limelight instead:

She established and expanded Stattreisen Hannover. And she organised the travel pavilion, an unparalleled global forum for sustainable tourism, for two decades.

When this topic reached the travel industry and the multi-faceted city exploration programme was established, Anke Biedenkapp set herself new goals, which she steadily pursued by taking over the management of Global Partnership Hannover in 2011.

Gil Koebberling, 2nd chairwoman

It was enthusiasm, which brought the native Bavarian to the Lower Saxony state capital several times as a guest at the EXPO 2000 and made her move to Hannover 2003 for good. At EXPOSEEUM e.V., she is still active today as the chairman of the association in the spirit of the world exhibition motto “Mankind-Nature-Technology”.

Her range is much larger, though: building on her entrepreneurial experience in the eco and wellness sector, she managed a sustainable design hotel and subsequently dedicated herself to Hannover most creatively – as a publisher, networker and managing director of an association.

Currently, she is in charge of the Tauschtreff; a successful neighbourhood project which she initiated as part of the National Climate Protection Initiative in Hannover’s Südstadt.

Tornike Murskhvaladzke, Treasurer

Tornike Murtskhvaladze’s roots are in Georgia. He came to Germany to study political science and German philology – and stayed. Already during his years of study he used his intercultural know-how and his interest in sustainable social processes for model projects of all kinds; and continued to gain further qualifications. In the meantime, he is also a qualified IHK business administrator and a sworn interpreter and translator for the Georgian language. In his main job, he is currently working as a project coordinator for the economic and employment promotion of the Hannover region.
